I'm delighted to be here at the opening of the Ken arms here in New l in Gallow we see shaon Joi speak to camera which has been renovated with Community benefit funds from Calia Quin firm Scottish PIR Renewables has shared over 55 million in community benefit funding we see a party happening across our onore portfolio in the UK and 13 million of that has gone to D Gall we see Tom Henry speak to camera so I'm Tom I'm a country Ranger on the southern Upland Way and my job is to maintain this 2114m long path but also to try and promote it to try and encourage as many people to come out and walk the southern o way and whilst they're out here to give them all the information they need to be able to enjoy their time while they're out here well this this is absolutely vital for the southern Oakland way the southern ockland way is a fantastic path but it's a really remote path it goes right out into the middle of nowhere and all too often there aren't good facilities there's nowhere to get a meal there's nowhere to spend the night in comfort and this will be a fantastic facility for people using the southern op we see in Madden speak to camera I'm in Madden I'm the senior area manager for the west region and we can operate the number of wind farms in this area we've got a really good Community relationship going and it's great to see the the impact that the community benefit has in this area and it's something through operations that we don't really see a lot of so it's great to be part of this today we see Richard Brown speak to camera a a similar product in barill which is halfway through the process we bought the Old Pub in the village uh it's now going to be a community Pub all the money for the renovations which is considerable cuz it needs a a lot doing it was from uh SP parales the the benefits are both sort of direct and indirect I think the direct ones is it's going to be a real sort of social Center and a hub you know with the events that are there that we we hope will take place in terms of sports teams and things like that it will be a real centerpiece for the for the village and I think also as a sort of indirect benefit the fact that the the village is now will have a thriving Pub uh is always good for the community we are a developer Builder and operator of urban FMS and so we've got a long-term relationship with these communities that runs for decades it's fantastic for us to see what can be delivered with this community benefit funds and this is a really great example here of the community maximizing their opportunity and match funding and really delivering for the priorities of their Community the new Community Trust have done a fantastic job of the refurbishment of this much loved hotel and Social Hub in their Village and it's really going to make a difference to the local residents but also visitors to the area to have this facility.
