BEINN AN TUIRC 1
Location Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll and Bute
Stage Operational since 2001
No. of Turbines 45
Operating Capacity 30MW

ScottishPower Renewables has planning consent to operate Beinn an Tuirc 1 until March 2028. We now propose to extend the life of Beinn an Tuirc 1 until 2034 by submitting an application under Section 42 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 to Argyll and Bute Council in Summer 2024. The application will be for Beinn an Tuirc 1 only, and will have no bearing on the latter phases of Beinn an Tuirc 2 & 3, which fall under separate consents.

It is not our intention to make any physical changes to the windfarm as a result of the life extension proposal. The same turbines will remain in place and there will be no requirement for construction on site or additional vehicles on local roads.
