MachairWind will build on SPR’s long-standing presence and positive track record as a responsible onshore wind developer and good neighbour across Argyll and Bute - investing in and working with local communities and businesses, to realise the benefits of renewable energy.

The MachairWind project is keen to support organisations and projects across the communities of Islay, Jura, Colonsay, Mull & Iona.

Areas of Interest

We are delighted to offer donations of up to £500 to local initiatives that positively impact the communities of Islay, Jura, Colonsay, Ross of Mull & Iona. To be eligible to apply, your initiative(s) should align with at least one of our areas of interest shown below:

Initiatives are limited to receiving one donation of up to £500 per year; however, organisations and groups are welcome to make more than one application per year providing each application is for a separate initiative.

The Small Donations Fund is unable to support:

  • Organisations/Groups that promote any kind of discrimination
  • Religious organisations, trade unions or political parties
  • Projects or initiatives that only benefit a single individual or family
  • Projects that require funding for salaries or other direct running costs
  • Funding for ‘bricks and mortar’ construction projects
