Having ScottishPower Renewables come into the area, has been really a boost for the area, because it looks like it’s a 30-year project. The licenses are being issued, so from that point of view the supply chain is being helped. The people in the borough and the people in the county are also working closely with the supply chain as well. 

We’ve invested more than £100 million in local companies within East Anglia region. We’ve regenerated two ports, the port of Great Yarmouth and the port of Lowestoft. In fact, at Lowestoft we’re building a new O & N building, purpose-built building and that’s going to house over 100 people. That’s 100 new skill jobs in an area that needs that type of investment and beyond that area there’s many more jobs and support jobs that come with that.

ScottishPower Renewables themselves have been really helpful in working with the local councils, working with the county councils. Working with the communities to make sure that their scheme is going to be a successful one and we’re really grateful about that.

...and this really is only the beginning for us. East Anglia One represents only about 20% of our ambitions within the East Anglia zone. So, there’s many more opportunities coming forward beyond this first project.
