The Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council has appointed industry leader Gillian Noble – who heads up ScottishPower’s offshore development and operations – as Chair of its vital Developer Group.

A Scottish cancer survivor has become the world’s first ‘turbine bagger’ after walking thousands and thousands of steps to tick off all 215 wind turbines at the UK’s largest onshore windfarm – ScottishPower Renewables’ Whitelee Windfarm – as part of her recovery.

Kate Turner, ScottishPower Renewables’ Director of Policy and Regulation has been re-elected to the Board of Scottish Renewables, the industry body for renewable energy in Scotland.

The team behind ScottishPower Renewables’ MachairWind offshore windfarm will be back on Colonsay and Islay next week, giving local people the chance to meet the team and find out more about the green energy company’s first offshore windfarm in the region.
