North Sea surveys for what could be one of the first floating offshore windfarms in the world may have helped solve a 107-year-old maritime mystery, with the discovery of the uncharted wreck of a World War One Russian merchant vessel.

Local people across Aberdeenshire will have the opportunity to get involved and have their say on the proposed MarramWind floating offshore windfarm when the first phase of statutory consultation gets underway later this month.

MarramWind is pleased to have collaborated with 11 other projects in the East and Northeast ScotWind regions to produce a report examining potential regional ornithological compensation measures that could be deployed at scale and contribute to the increased resilience of seabird populations in Scotland.

Almost 300 people across Aberdeenshire took part and had their say on the proposed MarramWind floating offshore windfarm during the recent consultation, which has now closed.
