Construction of Europe's largest onshore windfarm, near Eaglesham began in 2007 and its 140 turbines will have the capacity to produce 322MW of clean green energy, enough to power over 180,000 homes.
The windfarm began exporting energy in January 2008 and was completed in Sept 2009.
Whitelee windfarm is also the first in Scotland to have its own visitor centre, www.whiteleewindfarm.co.uk .
