Whitelee
Construction of Europe's largest onshore windfarm, near Eaglesham began in 2007 and its 140 turbines will have the capacity to produce 322MW of clean green energy, enough to power over 180,000 homes.
The windfarm began exporting energy in January 2008 and is due for completion in 2009.
Whitelee windfarm will also be the first in Scotland to have its own visitor centre, set for opening also in 2009.
