ScottishPower Renewables believes that East Anglia has the potential to be world-class in its delivery of offshore wind and is taking the next steps to develop future projects.
Building on the success of East Anglia ONE, ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) is currently developing plans for two new offshore windfarms East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO. Each project could have a capacity of up to 800 megawatts (MW). This is in addition to East Anglia ONE, which is currently being built, and East Anglia THREE, which has recently been consented.
There’s a few differences with projects East Anglia ONE North & East Anglia TWO and we are planning to hold some early Public Information Days locally in October to explain our proposals. We are planning week commencing 30thOctober 2017 for these events and they will be advertised in the near future.
Whilst the first two projects are connecting in to the onshore electricity transmission network at Bramford, National Grid with SPR are exploring an alternative coastal connection point for East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO. It is anticipated that these projects will connect to the grid in the vicinity of Sizewell/Leiston.
The overall development work for these two projects is still in the early stages. However, in November 2017, the projects will move into the Environmental Impact Assessment formal ‘Scoping’ stage.
In the meantime if there’s any questions, please contact either SPR's Stakeholder Manager, via the website, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
