ScottishPower Renewables’ history in your area

ScottishPower Renewables’ (SPR) has been active in south west Scotland for many years, generating cleaner power and socio-economic benefits to local communities. We own and operate a number of onshore windfarms in the South Ayrshire region including Glen App, Kilgallioch, Arecleoch, Dersalloch and Mark Hill Windfarms.

Through our established presence in South Ayrshire, SPR has to date contributed over £7 million in community benefit funding to local communities in the area.  This is just part of over £37 million in community benefit funds delivered from our operational windfarms across the UK.

Carrick Windfarm is a result of our partnership with Forestry and Land Scotland and is just one of a number of sites where SPR was awarded exclusive rights to investigate the feasibility of onshore renewable energy projects within the National Forest Estate in south west Scotland.
