ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) is to host a number of information days in July to introduce plans for three potential windfarm projects in the early stages of development in Dumfries and Galloway.
Initial environmental survey work is underway in the areas identified for potential windfarm developments. The conclusions of these surveys will inform the progress of the sites and the site design.
The potential developments are as follows:
- Euchanhead Windfarm: An area to the south west of Sanquhar within the National Forest Estate, being developed as a windfarm site in partnership with Forestry Commission Scotland.
- Wether Hill Windfarm Extension: An extension to SPR’s operational Wether Hill Windfarm, with additional turbines proposed for the area around the existing site.
- Kirkconnell and Cormilligan Windfarm: An area across the Dalwhat Valley from Wether Hill Windfarm.
The Public Information Days will take place at the following locations:
- Lagwyne Hall in Carsphairn, from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday 9th July.
- Glencairn Memorial Institute, Moniaive, from 3pm until 7pm on Wednesday 10th July
- Sanquahar Town Hall, Sanquhar, from 3pm until 7pm on Thursday 11th July.
