Permission was granted for a 13 turbine 30MW windfarm at Lynemouth on 9 January 2009 following a planning appeal.
Located approximately 2km north of Ashington, adjacent to the Rio Tinto Alcan Lynemouth Smelter, the windfarm will have the capacity to produce clean green energy for over 16,000 homes.
Initial works will commence on site during 2009 with completion expected during 2010.
